About
After a near 20-year hiatus, Amy recently returned to drawing. Always finding time for creative side projects throughout her career, she realized that art, not design, was her true calling.
Drawing from such wide-ranging influences as surrealism, pop art, and minimalism, her holy grail has always been photorealism. Her highly detailed drawings are a fresh take on still life, elevating everyday objects to the level of portraiture.
Amy was born in 1982 and grew up in Lewiston, Maine. She has been drawing since she was old enough to hold a pencil, taking lessons throughout elementary and high school, winning local competitions, and taking on commissions as a teenager. As a junior in high school, she was nominated to attend Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine as part of their Student Craft Institute.
In 2001, Amy moved to Boston to study at Northeastern University, doing a semester abroad at Goldsmiths College in London. She graduated with a degree in studio art and design and has been based in Massachusetts ever since.
